What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can save in your browser to remember information between visits or within the same visit (for example, preferences or technical data). The term is also used generically for similar technologies, such as localStorage or sessionStorage.
Cookie categories
- Strictly necessary: essential for the basic functioning of the website (for example, security, traffic balancing). They do not require consent.
- Preferences: remember the user’s choices (for example, display options). The language you explicitly pick in the menu is treated as strictly necessary, because you ask for it.
- Analytics: measure traffic and how the website is used, usually for statistical purposes.
- Marketing: used for targeted advertising or measuring campaigns.
The public BrandForge website is built to work with as few cookies as possible. Analytics or marketing technologies are not loaded before you make your choice, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
The website’s real technical inventory
As of the date this page was updated, the source code of brandforge.digital has actually been checked and does not contain Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, other analytics or marketing scripts, third-party YouTube/video embeds or fonts loaded from external providers. We do not use document.cookie. We use localStorage only to remember your choice in the cookie banner (the categories ticked and the date of the choice) and the language you pick in the menu, and sessionStorage for two display functions, described in the table below. None of these keys contains personal data or a unique identifier, has an advertising purpose, tracks browsing on other websites, builds profiles or is sent to BrandForge or to third parties. All scripts loaded are our own files, hosted on the same domain.
| Technology | Found in the code | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First-party cookies (website) | No | Static website, no user session |
| Google Analytics | No | — |
| Meta Pixel | No | — |
| TikTok Pixel | No | — |
| YouTube embed / iframe | No | — |
| localStorage | Yes | The bf-cookie-consent key: remembers only your choice in the cookie banner (categories + date); strictly necessary for the banner to work |
localStorage: bf-lang | Yes | The value ro or en, written only when you pick a language in the menu. Without a saved choice, the website shows the version in your phone’s or browser’s language (read from the browser settings, not stored). Strictly necessary: it remembers an option you explicitly asked for; you can delete it in your browser settings. |
sessionStorage: bf-featured | Yes | Homepage only. Remembers the identifier of the portfolio project last shown in the showcase section (for example nebi-ro), so that an immediate reload picks a different project. Functional storage; deleted automatically when you close the tab or the browser. |
sessionStorage: bf-doors | Yes | The value 1, written when you click a link to the portfolio, for the transition animation between pages. It is read and deleted immediately when the next page loads. |
| External fonts | No | The Archivo font is hosted on the same domain (/brandforge/fonts/); no request is made to external font providers |
| Scripts hosted on the same domain | Yes | script.js and forge-scene.js: interface functionality, with no data collection |
Although the website does not currently use analytics or marketing, we already show a consent banner. If we add such non-essential technologies in the future, this page will be updated with their real inventory, and those scripts will not be loaded before we have asked for and obtained your consent.
How to control your choices
You can control and delete existing cookies directly in your browser settings, for any website. On brandforge.digital, the simplest way is the “Cookie settings” button (in the footer on the homepage, in the bottom-left corner on the other pages), which reopens the preferences panel described above at any time. Manually deleting the data stored for this website in your browser removes the saved choices and will show the banner again on your next visit.
